Star Wars Disney+ is releasing The Mandalorian Season 3 on Wednesday, March 1, so buckle up and get ready for another ride somewhere far away in the galaxy! While Disney keeps storylines quite secretive, there are still a few key components that we can look forward to, including the reunion of Baby Yoda (named Grogu) and Mando, as well as more breathtaking visuals. This article will take you to the new trailer, followed by a breakdown of everything you may have forgotten about in prior seasons. Check out the new trailer below!
The recently released trailer of The Mandalorian Season 3 promises another thrilling quest filled with more stunning visuals. We can also see a clear reunion between Baby Yoda and Din Djarin, along with the return of Cara Dune, Greef Karga, and Boba Fett. It is also confirmed that Giancarlo Esposito will return as the menacing Moff Gideon who will most definitely give some trouble to Mando and ‘the child’. It is unclear what goes on before and after the two have a reunion, but the way this plot point unfolds will definitely be an emotional moment as the two have developed a worthy bond from day one. There also appears to be some unresolved business for Mando’s “transgressions' ' probably from the fact that he took off his helmet, so expect a return visit to Planet Mandalore. Last but not least, was that Baby Yoda using the force to throw out an enemy at the end of the trailer? Maybe, this time around it will be Baby Yoda protecting Mando!
What would we do without Baby Yoda? Okay, putting all cuteness aside, Baby Yoda’s official name is Grogu and he is actually 50 years old. The uniqueness of Grogu’s species has made him a top asset on the Empire’s Bounty Hunters’ Guild list. We can remember as far back as Season 1 where the series title character, Din Djarin (or Mando), played by Pedro Pascal, finds Grogu and forms a deep bond with him. Subsequently, Mando decides to repel the Bounty Hunters’ Guild and instead protect Grogu, ‘the child’, at all costs. As Mando says in the trailer, “This is the way.”
Season 2 begins with Din Djarin given the task to bring Grogu to Planet Tython, an ancient Jedi Planet where Grogu would be able to be with the Jedi Order and “use the force” as a means to choose his own path. As the two proceed on their journey, several obstacles put their lives at risk as they find themselves being tracked by marauders, known for being lethal warriors who wore Neocrusader armor supplied with combat-ready weapons such as vibroblades. An even bigger danger crosses their path in Planet Nevarro as they encounter the Imperial Remnant of the fallen Galactic Empire dark force led by the menacing Moff Gideon played by actor Giancarlo Esposito.
Fortunately, Mando and Grogu receive support from the one and only Boba Fett played by actor Temmuera Morrison. They are also supported by a former Rebel shock trooper known as Cara Dune (Gina Carano), a former leader of the Bounty Hunter’s Guild known as Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), and an Ugnaught named Kuiil (Misty Rosas). As the group of allies and adversaries fight off groups of Imperials on Planet Nevarro–and along the way encounter the famous Ahsoka Tano–which was a pleasant surprise for Starswars Fans–they have one final epic battle against Moff Gideon who has captured Grogu. To Moff Gideon’s defeat, the quest of bringing the child to Tython is a mission complete, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a return of Moff Gideon.

One can imagine the responsibility it takes for him to juggle two significant characters that hold an important identity within both the Playstation franchise and Disney’s StarWars Mandalorian franchise. What is truly impressive about Pascal’s portrayal of Mando from The Mandalorian and Joel from The Last of Us comes to mind considering the fact that both characters have a lot more similarities than what meets the eye. After all, Mando wears “beskar’gam in Mando'a '' armor somewhere far away in the galaxy, whereas Joel wears “your average Joe” attire on a post-apocalyptic Planet Earth.
